Our local wildlife

Rabbits on our front porch.
I was on the front porch when the moose was in our front door - I'm about 15 feet from it. I never did see Mama Moose, but I was watching for her!
Dinner anyone?

Rabbits do three things: eat, breed, and poop.

Eat: No noticeable eating issues yet, although we're not gardeners, and last year I was too tired to think about spending much time outside. (That new baby exhausted thing.)

Breed: We had a litter of babies in the back yard last fall (being released pets screwed with their internal clocks, I'm sure), and I think some of them may have frozen to death under our porch. I'm not looking forward to 1) the scent of decaying rabbit, 2) dogs digging under our fence to get at said decaying rabbit, or 3) bears climbing our fence to get at said decaying rabbit.

Poop: Our front porch has little brown poop pellets all over it. I have to sweep them off frequently in order to reduce the amount that is brought inside. Yes, we have a shoes off at the door rule, but we also have a little girl who puts EVERYTHING in her mouth.
